Join us in this cherished spring tradition—a celebration of renewal, community, and storytelling—as we shake the quilts out, after a long winter, to preserve them for the next year, and embrace spring. Our all-day community event welcomes everyone to participate, and celebrate!

This year, join artists and organizers Louise Eastman @louise_eastman and Erica-Lynn Huberty @ericalynnhuberty at Duck Creek as we celebrate the rich history and symbolism of the Log Cabin Quilt. A deeply meaningful pattern, the Log Cabin Quilt and it’s red square center symbolizes the Hearth, a place of refuge and belonging. Though folklore links it to the Underground Railroad, this myth only strengthens its enduring message of sanctuary and welcome.

AIR YOUR QUILT Join us between 9:00 – 11:00 AM to hang your quilt and collect it by 5:00 PM. If you are displaying a treasured quilt, we encourage you to remain nearby while it is on view. All quilts must be tagged with the exhibitor’s name, phone number, and email.

COMMUNITY QUILT PROJECT: THE LOG CABIN TRADITION Contribute to a collaborative quilt honoring the symbolism and heritage of the Log Cabin Quilt. To create a 15 ½” Log Cabin quilt square, start with a 3 ½” red center square, symbolizing the heart of the home. For the surrounding strips, you may use any colors, patterns, or styles—whether scrappy or precise, however you find joy in making! The only requirements are the size and red center; everything else is up to your creativity!

If you’d like a pattern, email louiseeastman@me.com.
